Pulling a Magnum engine- where to hook the chain?

Pulling a Magnum engine- where to hook the chain? - 07/12/13 11:41 PM

Seems like a dumb question, but...
Getting ready to pull a Magnum engine with all the fuel injection stuff still on. At first I bolted the chain to the intake manifold bolts. I noticed that the chain was against the fuel rails and I'm concerned it may damage them if I start pulling.
Would it be okay to bolt the chain to the throttle body bolts? They're the same size as the intake bolts, so I'd think they'd be okay. What's everyone think?

Thanks.

We used a lift plate redrilled with the throttle body removed. Engine and trans into the 84 Ramcharger. It was easy to pull from the wrecked Dakota as I just cut the rad support off.

Yeah, after looking at it more, that's what we decided to do. Thanks for the response.

I have a lift plate around here somewhere if you don't have one.

Guess I should have checked this first...
I ended up fabbing up my own and got it pulled tonight. Thanks though.
