Removing a 1997 pickup truck bed. Need advice.

I need to replace the brake lines on my 1997 dodge ram pickup. The only way to get off the brake line going to the rear that i can see is to remove the bed of the truck or possibly drop the gas tank. I thought removing the bed wouuld be easier but i have never done it. I was hoping someone out there could give me some pointers that might make this easier.

If you HAVE to remove the bed:
Disconnect wiring to lamps & whatever else.
Disconnect any vent hoses & fuel fillers that might be attached.
Get 3 fairly strong buddies.
Set the bed down on some barrels or a couple of sturdy saw horses rather than have the side panels support weight they're not intended to do.

An alternative is to put some wood between frame & bed.

I have fixed may of them by just running a new line between the tank and frame rail without removing either. Just cut the old one off and slide a new one in. You can get to the connnection behind the tank no problem with everthing in place. Too much work in my opinion just to snap the new line in the cheesy plastic holders on the frame rail.
