Unknown object - Tool?

Unknown object - Tool? - 06/16/13 06:46 PM

Cleaning out garage to make way for Roadrunner on rotisserie.
Came across this in a box of parts from my Shelby Dodge days.
Does anyone recognize this? Is it a part from a 2.2, a special 2.2 adjustment tool, or a general purpose tool?

The bottom is flat, the hole is the root diameter of the threads, so nothing can come in from the bottom and thread into the inside threads.

Looks like an adjustable solid lifter "tool" for setting the cam timing.

Something out of the direct connection/mopar performance catalog from back in the day.

I'm going to guess, half of the tool to determine proper pushrod length.
