HP B-body manifolds on 440 A-body - 06/16/13 05:04 AM

Just wondering if these would fit a 440 Dart?
P/N 3751068 and 3751071.
Thanks

The right side is the easy part...The heat riser usually hits though and needs to be removed.
The left side may fit with manual steering if the steering column jacket is trimmed back. I have heard of guys milling the manifolds at the port side, cutting more from the bottom to angle the exit flange in toward the block. This helps with the angle of the exhaust pipe.

Fits with power or manual steering, but not with column shift because the outer sleeve needs to be shortened as stated above. Will hit the firewall, barely. Check out the tech pages at www.bigblockdart.com.

Hello Ori. What Jim said, go to big block darts' site. iirc due to a stackup of tolerances BB manifolds may or may not fit on the DR side & if they do it will be real tight & not sure if shortening the col sleeve will always take care of that. On the pass side lose the heat riser & need an angle cut to tilt the outlet closer to the block. I'd read up on it & drop the eng in without ex man studs & go from there

You'll never get the passenger side in with the engine all the way in. You also need to have the steering column out. An angle cut on the driver side manifold will help, but we've never done that.

Thanks guys! I will have to get a 440 first then get it sitting in there to check my clearances. May have to get out the ol dremel drill if necessary I sure hope they fit!
Do I install the studs first or after the manifold is setting in place cause of room clearance?

Keep em out till you are done mocking up/fitting/milling/measuring/changing out as you will need all the room you can muster then when done install the studs then the manifolds.
