Final checklist before putting glass back in?

Final checklist before putting glass back in? - 06/05/13 04:50 PM

I have my headliner back in my 68 Roadrunner and I am getting ready to have the glass put in.

Before I do this are there any things I need to make sure are done? Does any one have pictures that might help guide me?

I also had the headliner put in and he installed the sail panel area without the board that I bought. Is this normal? I can provide pictures of this if needed. My car has the alligator teeth all the way down the back window.

Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure but I think 68 was no sail-panels while 69 up used sail-panels. That would explain your car having the teeth all the way around the back glass.

Make sure you have all your trim clips for the glass tight and sealed with a little sealer before dropping in the glass.

Thanks!

I went back and sprayed a little 3m spray adhesive down the sides. He didn't use glue?

I pulled back the exposed areas, sprayed them, and clamped them with little pieces of stir sticks to spread out the force.

He didn't use glue on the alligator teeth. Does it need it?

It all looks good. I hired a younger "kid" to do the work.

He brought glue with him but didn't use it.

go around all areas the glass will protect/block, and make sure there are no loose or missing screws, that you won't be able to access, once the glass is in place. nothing worse than looking through a new windshield, and seeing the missing dash screws you can no longer access.
