Standard equipment for T/As (Rallyes were the only option)

Not with the caps shown in the photo though, they were Dodge caps with the Hertzog.

Yes, but only (15") the '70 Challenger T/A as shown/stated above. It was an OPTION (W12) across the board 14" & 15" for '71. Factory correct HEMI Charger R/T with 15x7s & W12.

So this pic of my 1970 Cuda factory 14" steel wheels is incorrect with the trim rings?

Incorrect? Yes, those appear to be Ford trim rings (Ford had the same set-up with their larger 10" diameter "dog dish" hub caps)

I had 15" Police Rims with the vented dog dish hub caps...I like the beauty rings so I added them. I had the 14" Factory Magnums on the front as I was saving up for the tires to match the rears....on my 70 Charger R/T..

Don't know about stock, don't really care about stock. I like the look and use them when I can. Currently on the van. Those caps are from a 65 C-body and the rings I believe are Pontiac.

Remember seeing them on a few real window stickers from 1971,was surprised price was around 20 dollars, about same price as deluxe wheel covers!

So in 1970 there was no trim ring from the factory with the dog dish is what your saying? And they are only for the TA's in 1970? Sorry, I'm a little confused. I did see they were available with the 71 in the link though.

Re: steel rims, dog dish caps and .......trim rings? - 06/05/13 07:05 PM

1970 - STANDARD T/A 15x7.0" ONLY
1971 - OPTIONAL 14x5.5" & 15x7.0" (W12) B & E-body ONLY

NO other use of factory offered trim ring & "dog dish" combination by Chrysler Corp. during the musclecar era.

Re: steel rims, dog dish caps and .......trim rings? - 06/11/13 03:12 PM

Now in 1970 , the wheel they used for this combo was a 15 x 7 steel wheel. I think this also had to be the 450 wheel ( a 14 inch steel center in a 15 inch steel band , the same band they used on the 15 x 7 ralley wheels ) in order to use the 15 x 7 ralley wheel trim ring. This is because the 15 x 7 ralley wheel trim ring will not fit ( correctly ) a standard 15 x 7 steel wheel ( cop or standard wheel).
The inside measurement on a ralley wheel is 12.25 and a standard steel or cop wheel is 13.25.

I guess I will take the abuse if I am wrong on this , but I am pretty sure I am right.
