MSD Street fire Ignition module - 05/18/13 09:23 PM

Is it a good idea to upgrade my ignition system with this module? Local Pep boys has it on sale tomorrow and my ballast resistor is cracked anyway.74 360.

I replaced my FBO ECU with the Street Fire box. It has a rev limiter and my car starts every time. I have been running it for about one year now and I like the idea of running down to O'reilly's for another one if I have any problems.

They do not require a ballast, just wire both the RUN and the START wires at the old ballast into the SMALL RED wire.
They are only a slight bit bigger than the orange box.

It fits on the same mounting bracket as the OEM & FBO ecu.

I swapped out my factory ignition for one. Had it on there since last winter. Probably put 1000 miles on it. No problems so far.

I haven't tested the rev limiter.

Currently 120 bucks on Amazon.com. I think I snagged mine for 80 bucks off Ebay. Pretty good value compared to the other options.

Thanks, I just picked this up for 112. I'm gonna mount it just like you did.
The guy had a demo set-up which compared the spark jump between a regular voltage regulator and this module they were very different, especially at the higher RPM. He also said something about how this throws sparks at a 20 degree radius or something???Helps burn off excess gases??? Not sure prob just some propaganda.
