How many monaco 500's were made? - 04/24/13 08:06 PM

What was the first and last year of production?
I am looking at what I think is a 66.
Did they make 500's in 65 how do I tell the difference?
Anyone know how many were made with what engines?

The 500 was 66 to 70,no 500 in 65.

This one is very straight, original everything and original faded paint. It looks like it is driven regularly which will probably make it hard to obtain.
I'm am going over there with cash in hand tomorrow and knocking on the door but my problem is I have absolutely no idea if their rarity equates value luckily I don't have enough money to get me in trouble. I will try and post pics tomorrow.

My golden lab, yellow retriever is all original, faded fur. She has all her original equipment. I don't know if she is rare, but she is one of a kind. She likes to wrestle, and she likes to kill cats. I named her Monaco years ago. I call her Co-Co or coconut for short. She has the big smile, full "live" leather/fur option. Built in washer/licker, 4 paw drive. Factory air conditioner in the rear when it wags. You can't have her. She isn't for sale! lol. (I'm going to fix her up someday) lol.

White book shows ~ 7,332 2DR HTs and ~552 convertibles made for sale in the US for the 1966 model year.

There is no break out by engine but the 383-4bbl with console automatic was standard. Figure most came with that set up.

The Monaco 500 production is kind of odd.

Convertible production for US sold cars stopped after 66 but continued for CA sold cars through 69. The HT was discontinued for sale in the US after the 68 model year but continued in CA for 1969.

(68 CA sold convertible pictured below)

There is a Monaco 500 option package for the 70 model year but there was no stand alone model like in previous years.

A bump as I don't think Rhino saw my question.
