CHROME VALVE COVERS - 12/01/08 05:40 AM

I have a pair of chrome valve covers that are identical to stock valve covers (383-440)on my 1970 challenger. They have 7 small numbers stamped in the center of each cover. They have been on the engine since at least 1972 to my knowledge. I have been told that these were factory or dealer installed dress up items. Is this right? Anybody out there ever hear of this?......thanks!

If they have the raised flat area, in the center, old DC stuff, from the early '80's

Sounds like the direct connection covers I had on my GTX. Look kind of factory but when you look at a factory set its easy to tell theyre not. Mine had the numbers like yours too. Nice and clean looking though.
