I have a 1970 2 door post Belvedere with a .30 over 318/518 four speed. I have added a 8.75" sure grip rear, frame connectors, electronic ignition, power steering, SSBC disk brakes front and back, flaming river steering col and much more. I want to add a chin spoiler and nascar style rear spoiler along with a 6-pack style hood scoop. I was wondering if anyone made metal hood scoops and spoilers I could add to my car. I think I am going to have to make them. I don't like the look of adding a fiberglass hood scoop to a metal hood and I hope I am right to assume that a 6-pack style hood was never made for the 1970 models. I am going to add a 440 small block soon and I am only left with these body modifications and I will be good. Any information would be nice. I would love to make the side scoops functional but I don't feel the work is worth the reward.

Correct. Never made 1969 6-pack style hood on a 1970.
For the front spoiler there is Spoilers by Randy online. But IMHO the most cost effective and most durable is using a 69 Camaro ABS front spoiler with fabbed brackets under you front bumper.
For a rear ducktail spoiler, you will have to make. Google images of 1970 Road Runner Nascar. And look through this thread:

no 6-pack scoop on a 70 please! I bought a chin spoiler for 69 Z28. I haven't mounted it yet but it looks like a good fit. You can get them on 'bay for $40 and up.

I've had a 1st-gen Z28 ft spoiler (on a '64 Corvair, actually, where it was quite effective) and as I recall it had a fair amount of V shape to it; might not fit a '70 RR ft bumper very well. Check on that before you spend $.
As for hood scoops, to my eye a cowl hood mimics the '70 RR/GTX hood bulge better than anything else. I always liked the Olds 442 under-bumper intakes that connect to the air cleaner with hoses - kinda stealthy - but the hoses are a tight fit on a Mopar, and require a dual-snorkle air cleaner. But it's your car, do what you like; I'm just throwing ideas out there.

I'd go for the NASCAR look. Don't think a hood scoop and chin and trunk spoilers would look right together. I like the stock car look,kinda low same size wheels and tires all around. Like it's been said,your car do it like you want.

wha? cup cars ALL had chin and tail spoilers???? of course in 70 they had wings and nose cones...but ya know what I mean.

My issue with the hood is clearance. I hope anyone that owns a 70 Belvedere understands that. I agree with staying stock but I would not be the first to do something like this. I am a big fan of road racing and I really like the looks of a chin and tail spoiler. It was done on superbirds and daytonas back in the early 70s. To each their own. Thank you for the help and believe it or not I do understand staying pure to the original design. If I am going to spend the price of a new Corvette on my car I am going to make what I want and how I want it to look.

FWIW I got my hood from them.. Mine is Pin on race weight and it's thin!. You might have enough room w/ a flat "glass" hood. As it has less structure/bracing under it. What intake carb?

Naw they didn't ALL have chin and tail spoilers and the short track cars didn't All have wings and nose cones in 70. I just think a six pack scoop would look out of place.

I agree the 6-pack hood would look out of place but what wouldn't. A higher then stock top end of any engine just has a hard time fitting under a stock hood. I am just going on my 40 years of TV, Magazines, etc. that shows several 70 b-body RR/GTX with custom tails and chin spoilers. I know what comes on a Superbird and Daytona. I would like to think that anyone that likes mopars knows what a nose cone and wing is. I am not claiming to be some know it all. I know what I see and I know what I like. Please don't take it personal or think I am some idiot that doesn't know what I am talking about.

If I could go back in time I would buy a warehouse full of wing cars. In the 70s they couldn't give them away and now they are six figures even for a rough one. I would be glad to trade but I know the answer to that one. I am doing modifications to a very nice 64,805 mile Belvedere but if it was a more wanted car I would never do it. I just can't bring myself to clone a Superbird or Daytona. I kinda feel it hurts the value of the real ones when someone clones one. Please don't hate me out there for saying that. Just an opinion. I am really proud of my Mopar Brothers and Sisters and I have nothing but respect for all of you.

unless you're going to run a tunnel ram, I'd think any small block intake carb combo will fit under a flat hood. Only reason I went w/ the cowl is because I'm using stage VI heads and a meth/H20 system. Between the 2 they sit about an 1.25" higher.

There is a company that makes a 440 sick pack scoop with a hidden internal bolt on flange. Thats the way to go if putting it on a metal hood. I had one of these scoops but sold it about a year ago. It was high quality. I cant remember what company made it.

I don't know about every car but on mine with a little higher intake then stock the air cleaner hits the hood unless you use a lowered air cleaner. You can not put a riser on. The extra inches are needed. Sorry so many don't agree with my plan. Fact is we all love high performance and I am doing my best to make what I want, like, need... Good thing it is my car I am working on and it is my choice.

I really like the look of your GTX and your hood. Looks like some people don't like the idea of putting that scoop on a 70. You know the old saying, "You can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all the people all the time." Are you happy with the performance, fit and quality of part? It looks like you have a full fiberglass hood. What company did you purchase the hood from? Thank you.

In the picture you can see the top of the air cleaner a few inches from the scoop. Looks to me like the extra space was needed.

The hood is a stock Satellite hood with a scoop attached.
