Adaptors for larger brakes.

I have a disc assembly from a '73-76 A-body that I'll be putting on my '71 B-body and I'd like to know if there's a way to upgrade?

Only two sizes of rotors fit that I'm aware of. You can buy the brackets and step up to the larger rotors.

Not sure if anybody makes performance brake pads, but that may be another way to add stopping power.

What brackets? Can I get them from a bone yard? if so what vehicles?

& you can get performance pads. I have the 10.87" stock slider 73 A setup(the smaller of the 2 factory sizes)with 76 A calipers which have a 5/32"(2.75" vs 2.60") larger bore than 73-75 calipers & it's very inadequate. I was wondering if I had done a bed in procedure if that would have made a big difference.I forgot what kind of pads I used but they ain't cutting it.

I just scored a spindle assembly from a late model A-body that already has the adapters with the 11" rotors. I just need to figure out which side goes where.

they'll go on eithe side depending if you want your calipers front or rear hung I would mount them on the opposite side of the brake line/hose bracket unless you need them rear mounted to clear a sway bar.

I have a factory sway bar,so the calipers should be on the rear side?

you want them on the opposite side of where the hard line/hose bracket is just like the factory setup. IF you have to rear mount them because of sway bar clearance problems all is well if your brackets are in the front(I dont know B bodies) but if the bracket is in the rear & using a rear mounted caliper it MAY take a custom hose. With the tires on just go from lock to lock & check for clearance/interference. Other than that fit/function/alignment is the same. EDIT since you already have the smaller 10.87" setup for sure checkout some aftermarket pads & ask for 76 dart calipers for the bigger bores to get more front bias & follow their breakin procedure. I've been in vehicles where they took the time to do the breakin for the pads & it's quite a difference in stopping power.

No, Dippys and 5ths are M-bodies. The R-body is the 79-81-ish St Regis, Newport and Gran Fury.
