Wax Remover - 03/28/13 09:19 PM

The car was painted in 02. It has been subjected to 3 waxing annually. I experimented with different waxes over the years. It's time to remove 30+ layers of wax. I have reviewed 3M's web site. They appear to have a comprehensive product line. I request you share your experience with wax removal.
Thank You

A good dish soap like Palmolive will remove the wax.

I'd go to an automotive body-shop supplier and talk with 'em...

Thanks to everyone. I will take a ride to my paint supplier tomorrow, and post what they said. It's that time of year hopefully others will benefit as well....................Thanks

Yes it's "wax and grease " remover. Won't hurt the paint either.

I use some greaser made by Johnson wax, J-600. One of it's uses is to strip wax floors. It works wonders also.

Dx330 is easier to get for most folks.

As recommended by a couple of finish makers, I've used "Dawn" diswashing soap to strip the wax before applying a new system.

I recall that is what is what is recommended on the Zaino web site. I've done it once and it worked fine.

My paint supplier recommended Hot water and a quality dish soap for "My Application". If Silicone based wax was used I may have to wash two or three times. If a repaint was my objective then DX330 would be the best approach. When the water comes off in sheets, you're done.
