You can leave it in 3rd until you stop and then downshift to 1st. If the VB has LBA you'll want to do it that way anyway.

No of course you can get into it in first without the LBA. But if you get on it on the street remember do not let off the gas while still in first. You do not want to lift and then get back on it. I do burnouts once in a blue moon On the street and I always make sure I shift into second before lifting. And at the track it works good as I nail it on launch and the pedal stays on the floor the full run thru all 3 gears. You just have to be smart and remember what you have. Valve Bodies without LBA were built mainley for racing only but many guys including me use them on the street. In theary the non low band apply will have a better shift to second as it does not have to be sure the band is released when it shifts to second. But many guys use the LBA and get the shift working great. Years ago no one made a LBA manual valve body. Ron

Is this going to be a race only deal where every .00000000000000000001 sec counts ? If not then just get a LBA valvebody .
