Look for a raised pad on the passenger side of the main case, it'll have the build data stamped in it.

The numbers posted are basically useless in any kind of identification process ...

That said it looks like the 71 up side cover , also looks like an 82 date code on the cover , so it could be an OD trans

Looks like a early 80's alum main truck/van overdrive

I am looking for my Charger-the guy is selling it with an adapted bell housing to fit a Chevy. I would ditch the bell housing if it is a correct trans.

In the 80's GM put the A833 in Chevy trucks. I have no idea what they did you make it work but I would at the least make sure the input shaft is Mopar specific and not Chevy.

Are you looking for an overdrive trans because that is what that one is as pointed out by rapidfire.

That APPEARS to be a chrysler input shaft , if it's a trans you want to buy I would get a pilot bushing and bring it with you when you go to the transmission and make sure it fits properly.

The GM A833's use a 10 spline input and the cases are GM specific. It doesn't even look like a mopar trans except the side cover. The trans in questions is mopar.

I was looking for a regular 833 so I am glad I posted the pics.
Thanks for helping me out on this!

Looking at the picture with the shifter near by, appears to be a 6353 shifter with the grease fitting, my best guess would be a overdrive truck/van trans.
