Widest rims possible on 1973 Dodge Charger - 03/21/13 07:00 AM

What's the widest rim sizes possible on a 1973 Dodge Charger? For the rear, I like the looks of 295/50R15 on 15 inch by 10 inch rims is this possible without modification? or would it require something like Dr diff offset hangers? how wide can I go on the front? Also I like the look of the rear being slightly higher than the front, not by a lot though.

You can safely fit a 10" wide rim in the rear with 4 3/4" backspacing as long as the leaf springs aren't wasted and sagging. Up front, a 9" rim fits with the same 4 3/4" B.S.

good to hear, I was almost certain I had to do modifications to fit 295s on 10 inch rims in the rear.when you say sagging leaf springs, do you mean if they're flat and have no arch left?

Yeah... They should be at least 5 leafs in each pack and have some degree of arch. Depending on the tire, you may need to roll the inside edge of the metal of the wheelwells to avoid contact. I'd also avoid giving rides to any robust people. When you run tires this wide, you have to make sacrafices....
