BB Ultra Rods? - 03/04/13 01:01 PM

So my man inside Callies says that they're past prototyping and have run some production ready Ultra Rods for Big Block Mopar. They're still fixturing and taking their sweet time about getting a full production product to the market. But the squeaky wheel...wants that OverTime! Lol! He told me they're making an H-beam for BBC that's 600 grams lighter now. But to get ours on the market sooner, to ring their phones off the hooks. I'd almost forgotten about him telling me this a month ago til over the weekend when he brought up that they still haven't made those fixtures while he's making all kinds of great stuff for Chevy guy's because they call and ask for what they want. So the question is, do we want em? Of course. But aparently it takes some people calling a business these days and lighting a fire under them to get things we want into the market. So light em up guys! Callies.com --- 419-435-2711

Personally I don't see any reason for anyone to make BB Mopar rods anymore. The 2.20 rod journal with the 0.990 pin size works just fine. There are plenty of those rods available in lengths such as 6.80 or 7.10 that fit the RB blocks. Not only is the cost lower for the 2.20 rods, but there are a lot more bearing options.

What length is this ultra rod ?

Anything other than a stock length is not need, especially in a 2.375 rod pin size, if anything they could make BBC spec rods wit ha mopar bottom width ...

Check that , a 6.695 length with 2.375 big end and .990 pin would be nice ...
