2009 6.1 ENGINE
WHO MAKES THE BEST IGNITION SYSTEM?
NEED TO CONTROL THE ENGINE AND TRANS.

There are plenty of aftermarket controls for the engine however if you want to use the factory transmission i think you are going to be using the oem computer

Bubba,

Look at MSD ignition. You can use a MSD controller for the ignition without the EFI, and just run the carb.

FAST EFI also makes a stand alone Efi kit for 3000 for almost everything.

I do not make harnesses as I cannot make any money at it.

Call HOTWIREAUTO.com they have the nicest harness in my opinion,but $1000 for it.

The FAST XIM kit will run this engine in the standalone mode (without EFI). Or you could replace the OEM computer and run the FAST XFI with the XIM ignition controller and have total control of everything. Fast has a kit for both applications and the trans controller would come from TCI.
