Multiple fuel pump failures 08 Chrysler 300 - 02/06/13 05:07 PM

We have put 3 O.E. fuel pumps in this car. In as little as 2 days the pumps have failed... Open circuit through pump terminals.leaving things out I have checked so as to not bias anyone's thinking..... Any ideas?
Thanks

lets see,
see if there is anything odd in the gas tank.
that includes, water, bad gas, poor gas mix of ethanol, sand, grit, some other thing that might jam up the pump.

next would check electrical connection, and the line back to the battery to see if there is some sort of frayed, pinched lines that might limit the amps back to the pump.

next the pumps themselves.
are they from the same batch?
do they have something wrong with them that might cause a short inside?

same batch would lead me to believe they might have an issue with that batch, and I would get a replacement from another supplier.

Yes all valid points The voltage drop on the feed side is just over a volt. The feed wire is long and too small in my opinion. Ground side is less than half a volt.New relay as well. I was thinking the same batch as well. However, there is something funky going on in the design of the tank. Pump on one side and regulator on the other, saddle tank. Wondering if there is something wrong there?

while it is my job to second guess people all day, in this instance, I don't think the fundemental design is going to be your problem.

having said that, and not seeing it, is it possible the line to the reg or out of the reg got kinked in some way, causing a flow restriction?
