window trim clip studs - 02/01/13 06:38 PM
My 80 Mirada is missing some of the studs that hold the window trim clips on around the windshield, While I have the windshield out I wanted to fix it.
Can you buy these new? Do they have to be welded on, or are they a type of rivet?
I suppose i could use small screws but I'd rather do it the right way if possible.

The "right way" is to use a "uni-spotter" or equivalent type stud gun with the mold rivets. I used this method to install the mold rivets for my Landau molding on my roof........no holes to let water in and rust.

contact a auveco fastener dealer, most auto body shop supply stores, and get replacement screw studs, they only sell in a box of 100.

I'll see if I can find anywhere in town to rent the stud welder. If not, I'll go for the screws.
Thanks
