C-Body subframe question, solid isolators? - 01/17/13 08:12 AM

Hey all,

I was wondering if someone made solid mount isolators to replace the rubber bushings on '72-up subs. Or, will a solid mounted earlier sub work? Building this '72 Monaco and would like to firm up the handling a bit. For the rear I have a '70 8 3/4 out of a C-wagon to replace the iso-clamp stuff. I'll need shock plates but I can find those.

Any help appreciated.

I would think they can't be too hard to make. If they are the same as the 73up b body though stuff is already out there.

I have a 73 Chrysler that I used 73 up b-body aluminum isolators on. They are not a bolt in but will work. I only replaced the 4 that are under the front of the floorboard right behind the front wheel. I left the rubbers ones at the rear and under the core support, they where fine. You may have to grind the hole in the subframe to make them work or the subframe could have rust issues at the mounting areas. When I took mine out they crumbled to rust.
