Trouble with Metro A body roof rail weatherstrip - 01/07/13 12:11 AM

I have ordered 2 sets of these and they are both too long by a good inch or more beside the windshield. Has anyone else run into this? I'm stumped as to how to proceed.

Here is another thread about weatherstrip. I remember I said which ones were junk, so searched it and the metro were the junk ones. https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...part=1&vc=1

Seems hit or miss with them.

Note that thread is about b-body ones, but just figured if those are bad the other ones can be also.

Thank you for that link. That is exactly what I was afraid of.

I have run into more junk parts this last year or than ever before. It is really getting old. Good money for supposedly good parts, but they are total crap. And the manufacturer has to know of the issue. Metro has made these for years and years. They just keep making crap.

I may be able to modify these enough to work. We'll see.

Seems like an inch too long is better than too short. If it's a show car I can see your displeasure but if it's a driver does it matter?

I think mine were Metro and yes they were off in length too.

I had the same problem with my B-Body. Called them and they found some better ones that matched and sent them to me. Great to work with.

Yes, were paying for a part that is suppose to be as good if not better than the original.

I ended up putting the ORIGINAL window gasket back in my Duster because the Metro pieces fit so poor it caused an air leak which shrieked going down the highway.

Exactly, at least on my post car it doesn't matter if its too long or too short. It simply won't fit because the ends are different than the middle sections. Also with the new ones(different brand) I can actually roll up the windows without having to open the door.
