Does anybody know how many 1963 Plymouth Belvedere 2 door post V8 auto cars were produced? Probably a 318.

My 1963 Belevedere two door sedan was a original 415 HP Max Wedge So was my 1963 Belevedere two door hardtop, but it was a 425 HP M.W. Does the car still have the fender tag on the left front inner fenderpanel? If so post the numbers on here and someone should be able to tell you which motor it had in it when produced

If the fender tag is missing, shouldn't there be some way to tell by the VIN?

A '63 VIN will only tell you the make, model, year, assembly plant and sequence number. The model will tell you if it's a 6 cyl or 8 cyl. You can decode the VIN on my site.

If it's worth $45 to you to find out quite a bit more about your car, contact Chrysler Historical and order the build record, http://wpchryslermuseum.org/page.aspx?pid=501.

There's an example of what a build record looks like here: http://maxwedge.com/research/cchist.php

There will be other important information on the build record, including engine, transmission, paint, interior,
shipping date (as opposed to the scheduled production date on the fender tag -- yes they can be very different), region, zone, selling dealer and options.
