What is the valve stem height supposed to be for 906 heads? The FSM says to use tool #XXX to measure it but doesn't say what the measurement is or the tolerances are.

340 1.907 - 1.937
400 2.123 - 2.153
383 - 440 2.095 - 2.125 (906) and other numbers
426 Hemi 2.048 - 2.078
.030 is the typical range for stem heights, you must keep in mind also how much heads have been milled ? and if your using adjustable rockers or not.

Installed spring height correction with shims may also be needed for correcting spring pressure. 1.860 is typical installed height with standard valve lengths.
