# R-6290 were used on 1972 440's

Thought it was kinda funny.
I have a cool Holley book that has every one of their carbs made before 1989. Has all the info except the CFM on the factory carbs. Has CFM on their aftermarket carbs but not factory ones. Kinda sucks.

IIRC the cfm on my 383HP was under 500.

Is the 6290 a HP carb?

Don't think so.
Holley books says 72 440 auto Calif.
GG book says 72 440 C-body.

It's not over 600 cfm anyway you slice it.
Look at the front jets. If they are 66s or smaller it is a maximum 600 cfm. Chrysler didn't put big carbs on engines.
