do all 69 super bee have twin scoop hoods?

Of course, if the OPTIONAL Air Conditioning was ordered at $357.65 (9.6% on '69 Super Bees & 21.4% on '69 Coronet R/Ts), the STANDARD "bulge" hood would be found & due to the cost would move said b-body toward the "well-optioned" catagory.

most of the bulge hood cars i have seen out there
are like mine with a am radio as the big ticket add on.
then again i don't follow this stuff that closely..

The 69 Bee hardtop I used to own came with the bulge hood, a/c, buckets and console automatic, no side scoops, engine callout emblems on fenders, no vinyl top, R4 red paint with black interior and white bumble bee stripe.

The parts car was a 69 Bee post car in bronze with tan bench, auto on column, scoop hood with the flat black spring special paint on them, no side scoops, white bumble bee, no vinyl roof, and engine emblems on scoops but not on fenders.

Both cars were 383 cars. When I sold the red Bee it had a 440, an added tic/toc/tac, an added 6 way seat, and the scoop hood (still bronze).

Found out the car is auto on column


the bench seat is out of a 70 or newer car
said it was four barrel and is to be the original motor

Seems like in the day more Dodge B-bodies got the N96 than Plymouths. 4 speeds seemed a lot more likely to come with tachs and hood stripes too. Always had Plymouths but I think the 69 Dodge was about the prettiest!

My 69 Bee had the bulge hood.I added a 6 pack scoop and put the bulge parts in the garage.Sold one on the bay a few years ago.Brought like 70 bucks as it was like new.Still cant find the other one.Its in my old garage somewhere.Rocky

I always thought the 383 Magnum engines in the Super Bees had the large oval air cleaners?!?

The Orange Bee in the pic looks like it is more than just a parts car. At least from the rear 3/4 view.
I always wondered why you hardly ever see the stock power bulge hood anymore. I guess it's easier to find a Coronet hood and put scoops on em.

I would love another bulge hood for mine.I just could not bring myself to pay the kind of money they want for them. My friend I got the car from cut the original for an ugly pro stock snorkel back in the 80's. Ended up with a fiberglass six pak hood.

So I always thought there were two difference large oval air cleaners, one for non N96 and one for N96.

If this isn't the case...what was the purpose of the two different styles large oval air cleaners (I do realize the 383 and 440 had different base heights)?


Edited...nevermind I had a brain fart. I realized the air cleaner I have was for a 1970 440 Six Pack non-N96 which is why it has the shield on the front.
