You guys care to rate my build? - 11/16/12 03:55 AM
Here's the plan:
408
Hughes stroker kit (or similar)
forged crank
forged H beam rods
forged Icon pistons (20.5cc dish)
0.010" cut off block (piston I believe will be 0.002" in the bore)
10:1
RPM Air Gap
Holley 770 Street Avenger
MP ignition
Voodoo 275/284 (I think) cam
headers (not sure which yet)
Comp double roller
Edelbrock RPM heads
stock rockers (if possible, maybe adj roller if needed)
Thoughts?

I already have the orange box and it's worked fine for several years now. Fuel? I would guess Sunoco 93 or any high octane I can get w/o ethanol. Car is a police pkg Diplomat which will have a rebuilt A999 and 2.94 gears until I decide on a swap at some other time. Just a fun, cheap car.

The 275/284 I take is advertised duration ? I mean it sure seems like it as that would be alot for your build at 10.0 comp. If so what is the .050 readings and whats the rest of the cam specs ? Ron

Here is the cam

0.513/0.533 lift
110 LSA
I'm just curious what kind of hp this combo might make and if it sounds like a decent build
I just wan to get it in the car running again and will address the rear gear swap at a later time.

quench not a big deal with aluminum heads--don't spend LOTS extra making you machinist get it to the thou--take a swipe at the decks to get them flat say maybe 006-008 range and bolt it together
It is an aluminum head you can run Kerosene and it will not knock or give trouble.
Get a True roller timing set not a fake one--Marsh Perf can sell you the entire kit cheap as ANYbody and will deliver quality parts --go with quality rockers--Marsh also has PRW rockers and while they ain't Harlands they are very nice for streeters and hot builds that don't have race spring pressures--Give Todd a call and he will do you right--he is sponsor here Moparts Connection--all of his advice is based on hundreds of quality builds with RESULTS

I figure 0.010" off the block will also give me a good compression bump with quench as a bonus.
So any ideas on the HP this might make?
