1970 Interior colors - 11/11/12 09:13 PM
After submitting a post in the general section concerning returning seat cover and door panels I have a follow-up question concerning interior color options for 1970 Chargers. As I recall when I placed the order for new seat covers and door panels I was told charcoal was the factory color for "black" during 1970. I recall being told the black seat covers and door panels offered in the catelog is actually an aftermarket color for 1970. At the time I was planning on restoring the car so I wanted the "factory" color; however my plans have changed and now I am going to paint the car black and I have been told the charcoal clashes with other black interior items. I guess my question is were both black and charcoal interior colors available for in 1970 or just charcoal? I am trying to figure out why I ordered charcoal...

Alaskan TA thanks for the info. I do see the links indicate the charcoal/black seats could be combined with black carpet, instrument panel, and steering wheel. In fact since the color is shown as charcoal/black maybe when I placed the order the person who I talked to was right when he said charcoal was the black color for 1970. Bye chance does the info you have show an option for black seats without reference to charcoal?

Check out the attached link:
http://1970chargerregistry.com/Misc/color_combos/vinyl_seat_chart.htmlI am pretty sure you will find out that the 70 Charger inerior color was charcoal/black. As far as I am aware the all black interior color for 70 charger is after market/repop only and was not available from the factory.
