3 speed wiper problem - 11/06/12 01:45 AM

I have been having some trouble with my wipers not working all the time and the last time out they wouldn't go at all so before I go throwing $$ at it I would like some input.

First the dash switch 6 wires pink is 12+ and brown goes out the the washer motor which works fine.

The other four are green, red, brown, blue and as far as I can tell the green goes through the position switch to the armature so that should make the other three the speeds and the unit goes back to ground through the external strap.

If that is correct then I should get different ohms readings from each pin to the unit body.

Would anyone know what those readings should be.

Thanks

Test your motor like this:

Slow speed.
Ground the housing and the green wire.
Power to the red and brown together.

Top speed.
Ground the housing and the green wire.
Red is open.No connection
Power to the brown only and you get top speed.

Park the motor.

Ground the housing and the red wire.
Bridge the green and brown together.
Power to the blue wire.
Motor will reverse and if your park switch and gear are okay it will park and turn off.
