I have replaced both ball studs, new bushings, and checked for bind. Everything seems to be smooth. I even installed a second clutch return spring. I have the proper throw out bearing adjustment. I have to help the clutch pedel with my foot to return all the way. Does the "Over Center Spring" have an adjustment, because with the linkage off, the over center point of the pedal seems to be almost at the pedals highest point.(ie. near the up stop). Any ideas? Thanks.

I have always had to adjust the clutch to release with the pedal very high. If you adjust it to release near the floor, the pedal will not return all the way, and you have to kick it the last bit with the back of your toe. This is with a 3 finger B&B plate. If you run a Diaphram clutch like centerforce, you need to remove the overcenter spring under the dash.

With my T/A I would to get the adjustment close - then test it. Take 1/4 to 1/2 turns in on the adjustment rod until the pedal travel comes up.

Adjust as needed as the clutch wears. Mine wore pretty fast, so I kept a wrench in the car.

Make sure you have the proper Z-Bar..
Frequently the wrong one has been installed in our old Mopars now being > 40 years old...

In my 70 RR I had this issue of the clutch pedal not returning... And when replacing the clutch I took my Z-bar to our local Mopar guru. He proceeded to pull out (3) different Z-bars, all of the same width but with the tab fastening the adjusting pushrod in different positions. My 70 RR had the wrong Z-bar with the pushrod tab in an incorrect position.

The proper Z-bar is one that has the tab that postions the adjusting pushrod, so that it is parallel to the bell housing not angled.. This assures much better leverage and accurate return path..
