How many quarts of oil is the correct amount for a 426 Hemi with the Mancini 6 quart 70-71 style oil pan? 6 quarts or 7 quarts? This would be on a fresh oil and filter change.

I also have the same question. I have the 70-71 style pan. Mine is a world block 528 hemi. It still has the break in oil in it and I'm ready for the first oil change. I had to use a flexible milodon dipstick so it has no full mark and I need to know how many quarts to full to make my mark on the stick.

Six quarts in the pan and one in the filter before installing the filter on the motor. I fill the oil filter several times until it won't take anymore oil, be patient, do not get in a hurry on filling the oil filter I pour the rest of the oil from that quart into the pand and install the oil filter, CAREFULLY BTW, you may need to calibrate your oil dipstick fo rthe new pan I do, usually I use a small tubing cutter with a 5/16 stock Mopar SB stock pushrod set in the dipstick tube and shorten as needed on the Mopar chrome dipstick and tube kits
