MT SR Radial Will they fit? - 08/07/12 02:04 PM

Looking at this tire for the rear of my 68 GTX. 8 IN. wheel, 4.5 BS. Love the tread design. Anyone running this tire on their 68 69 B body? Any fitment problems? Thanks

I run that exact size on my 71 challenger and 26" on my 74 challenger. They have been trouble free for me.

not sure I'd run it on a 8" rim. Should fit fine under the car.

Yea I missed that, I run mine on a 10" wide rim.

MT website calls for 8.5" - 10". My thinking is 8 in would work. I'm mostly concerned about any rubbing.

why does it state they are Light Truck tires? Are these to help your 60 foot? I'd think MT drag radials would work better, if that's what you are looking for. The smaller the rim the more "balloning" you'll have and the less "foot print"

they are more for hot rods that are tubbed and run on the street, hard rubber compund for wear.

I have 2 yrs on these in the 85 truck and just swaped them over to the 440 truck. they still look new(no burn outs with them)

A-body 8 3/4 with 12" rim 4 1/2" backset 29x15x15 tucked in the fenders.

26x8.00x15 on 7" rim 4 1/2" backset on the fronts

they hold up well on a truck. my 29x15x15 sportsman pro went 14 months as a daily driver

the SR radials get my vote for longevity and performance but not for drag racing.
