'72 Charger 340 - Leece Neville or 60 amp alternator? - 07/31/12 07:04 PM
I'm in the process of putting my '72 Charger back together and I need some new belts for it. All the car part sites are asking me if it has the Leece-Neville or the 60 amp alternator.
How do I know which of these alternators my car has?
Are there any visible differences?

The LN is the huge 100 amper with the fan behind the pulley and special brackets. Not sure if a small block ever came with the LN bracketry. there was a mention of this in a thread a day or 2 ago. Highly likely that you just have the regular alt EDIT If your alt does NOT have fan cooling vanes behind the pulley then you do not have a LN

Excellent. I figured it had to be something obvious to identify the difference. Thanks for the info.
