How do you know if your engine has a air pump?
not sure what they look like or why they were used.

It will be a belt driven device on the front of the motor. Probably also have a diverter valve and air injection tubes in the exhaust manifolds.

Thank you I have seen that on other motors never dealt with one though.

Impossible to miss. Belt driven and often are seized so they're just there for looks.
