Best place to mount relay for fuel pump? - 07/23/12 10:48 PM

Should it be back by the fuel pump or should it be closer to the alt/battery? Or does it make any difference?

I would put it closer to the battery, so when turned off, you have less of the line with voltage in it through the car. (with chance of damage/shorting)

I run a 50 amp fused lead to the back behind the back seat, then run relay's back there. cleaner and hides them inside.

i put a 30amp fuse by the battry and the relays in the trunk. then run the power lines thru the gas gage hole in the floor.

Whatever is convenient and keeps the loaded wire run as short as possible. I have the battery in the trunk so I mounted the relay there also. Its a short run from there to the fuel pump. I still have to run the relay control wires from front to back but they are low load.

Put mine behind the passenger kick panel.
