Left hand lug studs for a Dana 60 - 07/17/12 06:27 PM

My shop guy is having trouble locating these lug studs for this. He says the lug stud knurl size is 673 measured on the old ones may be slightly larger new.

Does anyone know where to locate these in left hand thread?

believe they are different 8 3/4 to Dana.

Same stud as the8 3/4. Put the right hand studs in. That way a rookie tire guy doesnt break the stud trying to get the nut off. You cant see which way the nuts go on if your worried about the purist look...

Good luck finding them, they went out of production years ago and once the stock was sold out that was it.

Darryl , did you just fall off the turnip truck ? This subject has been covered more than once , or were you too busy defending FRAUD to notice ???

It was my understanding that they were still available from some source or that there was a stockpile of them available somewhere.

Many thanks, John

One aside: in the "Application Notes" it says -

Application Notes:
Rear; Right Hand Thread

would this part work equally well for the front (which is what i need)?

thanks

No , the front is different , here is the application page from Dorman , there are 2 knurl sizes , pop one out of the front and measure it and pick the one it needs ...

610-132.1 with a .650 for motor wheel drums and hubs

98147 is a .625 knurl for kelsey hayes drums and hubs

the page

Also make note that front lugs are swaged on , you want to grind off the swage before driving it out or you risk damaging the drum and hub hole .

I agree with JohnRR on the fronts.Had one guy try to take them out without cutting the swedge.Hub ruined. We used to have the setup at work to remove and install them with the swedge.Wish I had got them when the closed the shop and scraped it all.Rocky

John, since you still seem to be so concerned about what I do, here is an update for you. I have not advertised, sold or printed one in nearly two years. Things have changed in my life and I have no time for how long it takes to research and print one. So you can give yourself a break and get over worring about me.
