$140 for some dented V/C's with a horrid paint job & rust pitting. SOme people are insane.
Anyways these are NOT T/A or AAR valve covers.

The D/S sparkplug wire loom/bracket is NOT tall enough to be correct for either the 70-71 340 or TA/AAR motor. I would not consider those correct for a TA/AAR.

Isn't there supposed to be a "trough" for the wires on the passenger cover?

Thanks, my car has AMD covers and I would like to get the correct ones. I just don't know the differences.

Ok, get ready as this can get confusing.

#1. There is no PROVEN difference between a 1970 340 T/A - AAR 340 Six Pack engines valve covers and any other 1970 (or early 1971) 340 4 barrel valve cover. However, there were some possible variables, any of which COULD be found on a 1970 340 T/A-AAR 340 Six Pack engine.

This pic shows the most commonly argued variable, some will swear that only the style noted was found ONLY on 1970 Six Pack engines, when in fact, BOTH styles have been found on original examples of EITHER Six Barrel or 4 Barrel engines.

#2. This pic shows the most common configuration I've seen on any 1970 - early 71 340 Six or 4 barrel engine (early 71 340's were painted orange, later engines were painted blue).

#3. This pic shows another style I've seen but is far less common on 70-early 71 340's, the center wire loom bendable tab is small like the ends, not large and wide as seen in the previous picture (most if not all late 71 340's which are painted blue would have this style cover). For the record I've never seen a set of these on a 1970 340 Six Barrel engine but I wouldn't rule out the possibility just yet.

Typical 70-71 340 engine (this one's a 71) showing proper valve covers.

How can you tell 70-71 from 69 and below?

cntx, look at the different breather on the passenger side and the rear wire loom bracket on the drivers side and compare them to mine. It should be easy to see what changed after 1969
