Repo E body fenders - 11/04/08 09:02 PM

I would like to hear from anyone that has had experience with Goodmark or AMD fenders, the good and the bad.

I need a right front fender for my 71 Challenger and am having no luck finding a good original.

Thanks,Dave

I just installed a right front fender on my 70 R/T SE lastnight. I am waiting to get my proper hood hinges to align it with the hood, but it looks pretty close loosely hanging on the car. I was worried about the body lines, but it seems to lineup very nice.

I have a pair of new Goodmark fenders on my 74 Barracuda, lined up nice. My bodyman calls their parts Goodluck...he was impressed with the fit, John.

I bought a Goodmark right fender, and was not happy.
There are 2 areeas that are not correct.
#1 the top rear (where it meets the windshield) is curved more convex, as opposed to the front top of door edge, which is curved more concave.

#2 The lower body line, just behind the wheel well opening is sloped front/downward, as opposed to stock straight line. Looks like a screwup.

Goodmark fender, I would agree about the concave, convex comment. If you are a bodyman with any skills it doesn't take to long to spoon it into the correct position. I also installed my shaker hood from AMD today and it fit perfectly but was pulled off the job to go pick out some new carpet by the wife. I will finish aligning the fender tomorrow, but it looked pretty good when I left. Yea, I know, I need Hemi parts instead of stain master carpet but she wrights the checks!

Amd and Goodmark both have issues. AMD cuda fenders will be out soon, As to the Goodmark cuda fenders they do fit good, BUT the lefts that we have installed are a little short on the top by the door material needs to be added their. Rights fir and look great. Goodmark quarter on the cuda fit great. The AMD new cuda quarters we have struggled with on 2 different cuda that we are doing now. We sell both products and try various panels for fitment. NO 2 are alike. Just like the factory 30 years ago. No 2 car were put together the same.

I spoke to AMD this morning on some issues. Talked to Mark and Allen. They see the difference in panel to panel and car to car as well. IT just comes down to being able to accept the parts with in reason for what they are and understanding how the cars were built 30+ years ago. NOTHING was or is perfect now.

On the Challenger right (pass)side they had a stamping issue that made the lower body line face down instead of upwards . It may have been fixed by now but if not any body man can fix this easily. You may also have to add the cut out on the top plate for a 71. Fit up you besels as well befor you paint them as this area will require some tweaking. The body line around the wheel well fade out on top (just like the Goodmark quarters)and you have to drill the holes for the front fender inner seal and headlamp springs. I got one of the first sets so some of these problems may have been corrected. Any GOOD bodyman can make them fit very well.
