Denso 120 amp 2 groove pulley - 07/05/12 03:23 PM

I'm looking for the Denso 120 amp alternator with a 2 groove pulley. I called Mancini Racing and the tech stated that all of their Denso's come with a single groove pulley. He stated that my stock pulley would not bolt on.

I have seen the Denso alternator with a 2 groove pulley in the past. Where can I get this? I will also need the correct bracket to go with the alternator.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

They're used mostly on tractors and the like.

They're used on pre-Magnum EFI 318 and 360 engines.
Look for 88 to 93 truck and van applications.

Thanks for the info guys! I found one. It says the case size is 5-3/8. Now I just need to order the bracket, but I'm not sure if I should order the 60 amp bracket or the 120 amp bracket to fit this size case.

Mine hit the cylinder head when I installed it in the factory location. I had to do some creative mounting of bits to get things aligned.

Was that with AndyF's bracket? I read that you might have to grind down the stud on the alternator or do something to the plastic cover on the back, is that what was hitting?

I haven't used Andy's bracket. I fabbed something to align it with the crank pulley on the hot rod. The crank pulley was spaced a bit by the crank trigger.
When I tried stuffing one on the Imperial it hit the cylinder head again. Not wanting to jack with everything on the Imperial, I grabbed a standard alternator and installed it.
