wiper motor question

wiper motor question - 07/05/12 05:20 AM

Does anybody have a wiring diagram showing what each of the connections on a 2 spd intermittent motor are for? It's a 79 New Yorker. Wipers worked fine until that plastic cam/link assembly exploded into a cloud of unobtanium. I found one local in a bone yard and swapped it and now the motor won't work. First no ground. Solved that still no go because no power to the motor on any of the terminals. When you turn on the switch, you can hear the relay in the dash click.

I'm leaving for Carlisle in the morning with it and if I have to run a wire out the window so be it. I just need to know which terminal to hook it to.

I have a wireing book for 78's I believe but it should be the same. I am also going to Carlisle and I am going up Friday morning. Look for my red 63 in the showfield as I will put the book in my trunk. I can give it to you as I have 2 of them anyway. Ron

Thanks Ron. Looking forward to seeing you again.

The motor has a plug with 4 terminals and 2 single wire plugs. I was only half kidding about the wire out the window. I would like to rig up something to get wipers if the need should arise tho the forecast is good. If someone knows what terminal/terminals need power and which need ground, that would be great.

Thanks

I dont know if you will see this Twostick but I am not taking my car. Its just to hot to enjoy driving it so we are just towing my buddies car up in his AC truck. Its a black 65 Dodge Coronet 500 with a red interior and a 65 Hemi scoop. I have the book with me. Ron
