Trunk splatter/speckle paint???? - 06/17/12 04:42 PM

I just redid my trunk and used Duplicolor splatter paint and there's almost no speckles in the finished product. When I was shopping for the paint,I found Duplicolor & Plasikote. The Plasikote required a clearcoat, the duplicolor did not. What have you folks used to paint your trunks and what kind of result did you get??
I went with the black with grey, but it just looks black

I used Zolatone. You can't see it, but there are white and dark blue splatters all over the med. blue base. There may even be another shade of blue splatter in there also.

Was that a rattle can or spray gun?

i used the eastwood stuff in my 65 coronet. not a lot of "splatter" and needed a clear coat. its ok for my car but wouldn't look right in a full resto. i don't think the chrysler splatter is available. we have to "take" the gm stuff.

It comes in quart and/or possibly pints. You spray it in your gun. Makes a real mess. But it is nice in the end. Look up Zolatone and you should find it.

Wow. Looks like they discontinued almost all of the colors. That sucks.

In my 1965 Plymouth Belvedere I, I used PlastiKote spray cans Part Number 503 Gray / Black / White. You cannot see the Black and White flecks in the attached photo, but they are there. To me, the trunk came out great.
