i came across a 1968 dodge charger with a three on the tree any idea on how many of these were made or if this was / is something that was rigged by a previous owner

very few. Ive seen 1 in 35 years and it was /6 powered..

Yes they came that way from the factory. I had one. I beleive 250 were made with /6 and 3 speed but I'm not sure. Was not many.

My list shows 1 made with a three-speed column, but obviously that is wrong. I have heard of a handful over the years.

I have a 68 Charger with /6 and 3 speed columshifter.
Decoded and checked by GV Govier.
According to Galen, there was 4 built, but he only knew of 3 of them so who really knows

My severely rotted parts car was originally a manual 3 on the tree car but I believe it was a 318 car.
