valve lash for roller cam/aluminum heads - 05/28/12 08:53 PM

what should the cold valve lash setting be for a solid roller cam w/ aluminum heads be? cam specs say 16 int/18 exh. Is that hot? what should cold be? May seem like a dumb question but I've let this thing set for a couple of years while getting my health back after a bout of lung cancer. Going to run a half marathon next weekend!

The average cold setting for aluminum heads and an iron block would be .006" tighter cold. Start at .010" /.012" then check them hot.

Most valve settings on the cam cards are for hot setting, aluminum heads grow so start with -.006 from the hot setting. OP, congrats on whupping the big C I've had three different bouts with two types, early detection is the key to succes
