66 Charger need help with number barn find

Friend found a 1966 Charger 383 4 barrel a/t power windows.. in 66 did they put the vin number on the block and trans if not how does one confirm numbers matching? last registered 1973 50k sounds like a survivor. trying to come up with a price as to its value been in storage sence 73 thanks

I dont think the vin was on the block in '66. Bset you can do is check date codes and verify proper range for cars build date. Those are neat cars but easy to buy and hard to sell. Good luck.

No numbers matching till 68. The block cast should be 1-3 months before the build date.
