Press-in jets for TQ - 05/06/12 08:53 AM

Anyone have any leads as to where I can pick up a pair of TQ press-in jets? I broke one of mine when pulling it out.

Must be a 1969 Competition series? Those are a one year only item, the only replacements ever made were sold in Strip Kits and those are pretty much impossible to find for that carb. It may be possible to repair your broken jet, post a pic of whats left of it.

One tab of the jet broke off. That exposes part of the o-ring. Now I have a rich condition that only occurs some of the time. I was hoping that maybe a member may have spare parts from a strip kit they might part with. Yes it's a Competition Series carb that I would rather fix than replace. I've had it for 30 years, it's been on many Mopars I've owned, and is on my 340 in our 33 Plymouth now.

Well the only place I've found jets is robbing them from other examples of the same carb, sort of a catch 22. Since you are running a modified car I'd suggest a different replacment TQ, they offer comparable performance and way better street manners. An early 70's version (post 71) will be the least expensive and jets&rods interchange freely with any other post 72 TQ, plus you get an automatic choke which can be nice on a driver, a later 70's Super-Quad version has an electric choke which is nice if you can't use a divorced choke with your current intake setup, they are on ebay pretty regularly for $100-$200.00. You could likely sell your current carb for as much or more even with a bad jet.
