Exhaust cutout install

I'm putting in a set of the QTP exhaust cutouts. The wiring harness from the motor to the one half of the twist lock connector is quite short. I thought I could position the connector inside the car but it doesn't look like it. I've not done one of these before, but any problem with the connector hanging in the breeze outside the car? It looks like it wouldn't really be "hanging" too low and it seems to be a pretty sturdy twist lock piece. Any help much appreciated.

I would just put it in and zip tie the wires out of the way.
