Does anyone know where to get production totals?

Does anyone know where to get production totals? - 05/21/08 05:47 PM

I just purchased a 1968 Sport Satelite, 383/4spd no options. Was originally a copper(?) color. I have searched the net, and still have not found anything about Plymouth production numbers. I found some info about GTX's, but not Roadrunners or Satelites.

Or... how might a person go about finding the original or previous owners, or even the dealer who sold it new?

Thanks
Jesse

I think chrysler historical might have that on a 68.
Some of the early 70's info was lost in a fire.
Galen would most likely have that info too.

1968 Sport Satellites were well optioned "stock" (buckets, wheel lip & rocker mouldings, etc.).
They took on the insurance beater/sleeper image with the addition of the big-block & 4-speed.
"Copper" sounds like paint code "M" - "turbine bronze metallic".

per GG's "white book":
US spec.
1968 Sport Satellite 2 door hardtop (RP23) -
383 2bbl 4-speed - 338
383 4bbl 4-speed - 1015
1968 Sport Satellite 2 door convertible (RP27) -
383 2bbl 4-speed - 55
383 4bbl 4-speed - 70

Do you have fender tag info or pics?

Nice cars...as Dan said they can be like a GTX 'Lite' or a very well optioned 'Road Runner' with the 383-4 speed.

If you have the broadcast sheet, I'd be interested in knowing the engine assembly number.

My old "loaded" non-A/C SPD - 326 '68 Charger 383 4bbl auto:
ENGINE - 708
TRANS. - 031 - #2892 031
RAD - 69

Doug, is this 330hp? Any ideas on the "RAD"?

Dan, the engine assembly codes for 68 B body HP non A/C cars are 760 and 761. The radiator appears to be 2898069.

I've found HPs in four speed Chargers and Satellites in 69 and 70 but I've never seen an HP with automatic in the same models.

I don't have a lot of info on the 68's but I've yet to find a 68 Charger/Belvedere four speed with the HP engine partially because they are fairly scarce. That's why I'm hoping the OP has the BS for this car. I don't think the 68 Non-SB or RR cars got the HP engine but research contines....
