It's NOT a "C" 440 as that would be a 67 motor. Can't tell ya much about the rest...

Just a guess would the C be a G and the T be a 1. What are the other numbers and letters on the raised pad at the front.

sounds like the "top pad" reads G440 HP - What is the date stamped on there?
the partial VIN# 1A162694 from a 440 4bbl or 440 3x2bbl Lynch Rd. assembled '71 Super Bee or Charger R/T
block cast on 5/5/70

Thanks for the info!! Is there anyway to determine if the block was a 6 pack block for sure? FWIW, it did have 6 pack rods in it.

All '70 & '71 440HP engines have the "HEAVY RODS" regardless of number of carburetors.

ONLY "IF" someone could find info on WS23U1A162694 or WS23V1A162694 or WM23U1A162694 or WM23V1A162694, "IF" 1A162694 is the stamped number.

& it doesn't matter unless you know where that Charger is the blocks are the same

What else did it have in it ? Is it untouched from the factory or has it been rebuilt, if it's been rebuilt no real way to tell without a title that matches that partial VIN.

As said ALL 70 - 71 440's Hp and 6pk have the same rods, external balancer and oil pan.
