POR-15 ENGINE ENAMEL??? - 03/16/12 05:26 AM

Has anyone used this product? Is the orange, the factory HP orange..or is it the lighter Race Hemi Orange? I'm thinking of using it on my 440. Thanks in advance!

I can't comment on the Orange, but I'm happy with the product. Did my heads and block with gloss black and it looks just like all the powder coated parts. Only put a couple hundred miles on it though.

My opinion as well! I will be brushing it on...two thin coats! If I don't use the Por-15..I'll be using Velspar Farm Implement Paint...if they have it in Chrysler Orange!

Thanks!

I catch some flack for not keeping her original, but I love her just the way she is. (well, if the seats were recovered, the glass was back in, and the top was back on, I'd love her more)

This engine was done with the POR 15 Engine kit by the previous owner. I thought it looked pretty decent.

Painted a Ford motor with it still looks good 5 yrs later, we sprayed it on, thined it out with some xylene.

That looks good. I was planning on black for my B engine. This helps me confirm that I will like the look. Glad to hear the POR15 brush on product is a good one.

I used the POR 15 on my 440 and it held up great. Sprayed it on. Touch ups are really easy. Love it.

I dont think your gonna get a real nice freashly painted look with a brush as you would with a spray it may look ok powder coat dont really lay down for a nice shine (has orange peel) Nothen looks as clean as a proper spray job

Why would a brushed paint last longer than a sprayed paint?

more paint, less areosol plus the paint levels itself out..no brush marks are seen, unless you use a cheap brush
