Pulley setup on 440- 3 pulley's?? 4 pulleys?? Pictures? - 03/12/12 09:59 PM

OK...For a 72 Challenger, brother has a 4 pulley setup that bolts to the balancer? (pardon me If I get something wrong here....I don't know much about the engines, etc .....just like to drive them....lol)there is another pulley above it....I think he said it's for the altenator.....well the top pulley and the 4 pulley's below just hit each other.....so I guess the real question is.....is the 3 pulley setup the one we need???? he thinks the 4 pulley setup is from a New Yorker or something similar.....AND....Does anybody have the 3 pulley assembly for sale?? Thanks...Anyone have some good pics?? I don't have a pic yet of what he has yet......Thanks again for any help....Tony

My head hurts .

The pulley above the crank is the water pump , to the left ... looking at the engine ... is the altenator , to the right is power steering if he has it . does the car have A/C.

If no A/C and he has power steering he needs a 2 crank pulley and the correct water pump pulley , no A/c and no power steering a 1 groove crank pulley and the same as the 2 pulley water pump pulley .

My head hurts too....lol

It will have A/C eventually....does have power steering......I would have to see a pic to at least be able to see what I would actually need for it to be correct......

This one is missing a belt , there should be 2 on the A/C - altenator .

Bouchillon has 2 choices for sandon compressor mounts, one up high like mine and another down low where the fuel pump would normally be(can't use a mechanical pump) that hides the compressor.
