I scratched the he-double hockey sticks out of my chrome plating around the rallye dash (71 Demon). I need to touch it up either before or after I put it back in. What's the best cost effective way to do it? What did you use? thanks

For chrome-like touch-up paint around the instrument panel, go to a hobby shop and look at the plastic model car paints, such as Testor's. You should be able to find a paint intended for chrome parts on plastic model cars. At a real hobby shop (maybe not at a big box store) you can also get high quality small brushes and thinner/brush cleaner.

Maybe you'll find a '71 Demon model car kit there too. Then you can paint the chrome on the kit with the same paint to practice your brush strokes, see how the paint looks, drying time, etc.

Recently, some unique mirror chrome paints have come on the market. Most hobby shops have them, they are quite spendy, but actually look like real chrome. In fact, there are a couple of colors (chrome, aluminum, nickel) available at my local hobby shop.
